During a recent One Direction performance, Harry Styles appeared on stage with one fingernail painted red, and fans are connecting it to Safe Horizon’s #PutTheNailInIt campaign.

Safe Horizon is a charity that supports victims of domestic violence.

It is raising awareness of its work by asking people to paint the nail on the third finger of their left hand purple and share it with the hashtag #PutTheNailInIt.

Styles has made no comment about whether he’s supporting #PutTheNailInIt, but this hasn’t stopped fans following his lead and embracing the campaign anyway.

Some fans are even calling him a feminist.

However, the campaign asks people to paint their nail purple, but Harry’s is painted red.

Harry’s nailwork could indeed be a coincidence rather than a mark of support for Safe Horizon’s campaign, then.

But if Harry’s nails have got people talking about the campaign, then ¯\_(ツ)_/¯, it’s a good thing either way.
